Annabelle Rama Gets Emotional During The Contract Signing Of Her Son Richard: “First Time Na Nangyari Sa Buhay Namin Na Nakapunta Lang Ng ABS”
It’s official. Richard Gutierrez is now a Kapamilya.
The contract signing was held during a press conference on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Richard received a warm welcome from the higher-ups of the network giant and media. His jump ship also earned positive reactions from fans online.
“I’m very happy and thankful to be in ABS-CBN,” Richard said.
“I’ve been away from the limelight for a while now. I really needed that to grow as a person, as a man, to spend time with my kid and my family. I needed that time away. Now, I’m back. Now, I’m ready. I’m reenergized and focused and I know myself better now,” he added.
The actor will take the spotlight again, after years of hiatus, as one of the casts of the upcoming fantasy series “La Luna Sangre” which will be led by loveteam Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Richard took a time away from show business. He also shared that while he was away, he thought that perhaps showbiz was not really for him.
“I chose to rest, to really step back, to look myself, to look at people around me, what really matters to me, to my family, and I needed that just to re-energize myself,” the actor said.
“During those times of being away from the limelight, you also can’t help but to think about if it’s really the path for me. May mga times na pumapasok sa isip ko, ‘Maybe I could do something else in my life. Maybe I could go somewhere else.’ Hindi mo maiiwasang maisip ‘yun eh while you’re away. But I guess, God has plans and I didn’t expect this. When this offer landed, I’d be stupid to refuse. So, I’m happy to be here now. I guess, this is the path for me now.”
Meanwhile, Annabelle Rama was emotional for his son’s new chapter in life.
“Teary-eyed nga ako kasi sobra talaga akong [natutuwa], kasi dream talaga ni Richard mapunta dito. First time na nangyari sa buhay namin na nakapunta kaming ABS-CBN. At last, ‘yong aking dream, [it came] true,” Annabelle said in an interview.
“My whole family is very happy. Actually, napanood nila ‘yung live stream. They’re very supportive and very happy. I’m so blessed to have my family with me all the time,” Richard added.
Richard thinks the network’s offer was a ‘perfect timing’ and a ‘blessing’, and that ‘everything fell into place perfectly.’
“La Luna Sangre” is the third installment after “Lobo” and “Imortal.” Richard will portray Sandrino, the long-lost son of vampire Magnus (portrayed by Jake Roxas).
